Whenever we talk about the month of February, we immediately think of love. We can't help but think of Valentine's day, a box of chocolates and a big bouquet of flowers.
However love is more than just about these momentary gifts we receive on
this wonderful day or just about romance, there is more to it and we have all felt it.
In my opening paragraph I quoted a passage of scripture from the Bible because it captures the true essence of love. The passage shows characteristics that we can exercise everyday towards our families, friends, work colleagues and even strangers.
These characteristics seem very simple to follow, however allow me to ask you this?
Have you displayed patience today, on the road whilst you were driving to a specific location? Have you been kind to your family? Have you been prideful perhaps in your successes? Have you been selfish/self-seeking, constantly puttng yourself ahead of others?
When we ask ourselves these questions and take a moment to ponder on them, we start to realize that we may have lost the real meaning of love. My challenge to us this month is to show more of these traits/characteristics of love every day to our immediate circles, stranger, people we wouldn't normally see or interact with on a daily basis, to the less fortunate people you may come across, to exercise more patience, more calmness, more goodness, more kindness, more honour because when we do this guess what?!
We all win because love never fails!
